Block work contractor in India

Block work and masonry forms the walls of a building. We build it to the drawings, line and level, and hand over surfaces that are ready for plaster.

What it is

Block work is the masonry that makes up a building’s walls: external walls, partitions, shafts and parapets, laid in mortar between the structural frame. It is usually done in concrete, AAC or clay blocks, depending on the specification.

It looks like routine work, but it sets the quality of everything after it. Walls that are out of line or level cost extra plaster, show up in the finish and delay the trades that follow. On high-rise projects it also has to keep pace with the slab cycle.

Where it is used

  • Residential towers and townships
  • Institutional buildings such as schools
  • Commercial and industrial structures
  • Boundary and internal partition walls

What to specify before we start

  • Block type, size and strength
  • Mortar mix and joint thickness
  • Openings, lintels and services chases
  • Floor-by-floor handover sequence
  • Whether plaster follows immediately

How we run it

  1. Line and level first

Marking and levels are checked before each course so that walls arrive ready for plaster.

  2. Matched to your construction method

At Yashwin Enchante we used masonry methods compatible with aluminium formwork, so block work could follow the slab cycle.

  3. Planned manpower

Gangs are sized to the floor area and the cycle time, so work moves floor by floor without gaps.

  4. We start from your drawings

We read the drawings, specification and timeline first, then plan manpower and the daily workflow to match them.

  5. Our own engineers and supervisors

Work is run by our own engineers and supervisors on site, so someone accountable is always on the ground.

  6. Safety on every site

We follow all applicable Indian rules and safety norms on every site. See our safety policy.

We have done this work on 12 projects for Godrej Properties, Vilas Javdekar Developers, Kolte-Patil Developers, Paranjape Schemes, Namrata Developers, Mantra Properties and Saheel Properties. The list below shows each one.

Questions

How do you keep block work in line with the slab cycle?

We plan manpower against the floor-by-floor cycle from your programme. On Godrej Rivergreens we worked on 24-storey towers with rapid slab cycles.

Which blocks do you use?

We work to the block type in your specification. Tell us the type, size and strength class and we plan around it.

Can you take a new project?

Yes. We take new projects anywhere in India. Share your drawings, expectations and timelines and we plan our manpower and daily workflow around them.
